Mayan Mystique – Mexican Single Origin Coffee
Caramel. Dark chocolate. Brown sugar. Cinnamon.
Mayan Mystique is a rich, smooth single-origin Mexican coffee from Siltepec in Chiapas, grown high in the Sierra Madre close to the extraordinary El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve.
This is a beautifully balanced coffee. Caramel and brown sugar bring the sweetness, while dark chocolate, cinnamon and soft vanilla give it warmth and depth. A delicate lemongrass and citrus note lifts the cup without making it sharp, while the rounded body keeps everything smooth and satisfying.
The result is an approachable Mexican speciality coffee with plenty of character: sweet, gently spiced and wonderfully easy to drink.

The Story Behind Mayan Mystique
Deep in the mountains of Chiapas, the Sierra Madre rises through humid cloud forest and rich, fertile soil.
This is the landscape behind Mayan Mystique.
El Jaguar coffee is produced around Siltepec by small coffee growers using traditional farming methods. The coffee grows beneath natural shade before being carefully harvested, depulped, fermented and washed. The beans are then dried beneath the Mexican sun.
Nearby lies the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, one of the most important areas of cloud forest in Mexico and a refuge for an extraordinary variety of plant and animal life, including the magnificent quetzal.
There is something fitting about coffee coming from a landscape like this.
Ancient mountains. Dense forest. Mist hanging amongst the trees. A region whose history stretches back long before the modern coffee trade.
That sense of place is what inspired Mayan Mystique.
In the cup, there is no smoke and mirrors. Just a beautifully balanced washed Arabica with natural sweetness, chocolate depth, warming spice and a smooth finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.

Why Mayan Mystique?
If you enjoy coffee that is smooth, chocolatey and naturally sweet rather than aggressively acidic, this is an excellent place to start.
It has enough complexity to keep speciality coffee drinkers interested, but it remains reassuringly easy to brew and drink.
A coffee of mist covered mountains, ancient landscapes and deep Mexican flavour.
The mystery is in the mountains.
